Last week we had a new client come to our studio for a laser hair removal consultation. He was looking to have his back, chest, stomach, shoulders, upper arms, and neckline (front and back) lasered. When we were looking at the package prices, he was interested in doing the package of 3, which would save him 20% off the regular price and we could divide it into a payment option for him. The other option we discussed was our hourly rate of $450 per hour. I told him that when we laser that much area it can take anywhere from an hour and a half, up to three hours. If he came in already shaved, the session would take around two hours.
He decided to come in really well shaved and decide after the treatment if he would opt for the hourly rate or the package price. Lo and behold, the session only took him one hour! He ended up getting all of the areas lasered (back, chest, stomach, neckline, shoulders and upper arms) for the cost of one full back treatment. Incredible savings!
What Acomoclitic Studio requires to do the hourly rate is a minimum of four areas with one being a large area that costs $500 or more (i.e. back or legs). What saves you money is shaving really well, so the laser technician doesn't have to spend any time shaving your hair for you. Understandably, there may be areas you miss or can't reach. The less time we spend shaving those areas, the more time we can spend lasering, and the more money you will be saving.

Last Friday, I updated our price sheet for our laser services, and already it has made it much easier for new clients to know what their options are before coming in for their laser consultation. The one thing that our laser price sheet does not show is our payment plan options. The main reason is because we like to discuss that on an individual basis. Sometimes our clients will tell us how much they can afford on a monthly basis and we will customize a package that fits their budget.
One payment plan option that will be going on this whole year is on our $2,010 package for 20 Brazilians and 10 Underarms. If you prefer to break this into payments it works out to be $175 per month for twelve consecutive months. Once the year is up, you are finished paying for the package, yet you will continue with your remaining treatments at no additional charge.
If you are considering laser and your only concern is 'How am I going to afford it?' please set up a consultation. We want to work with you so you don't have to wait until someday when you have the money. Especially if your unwanted hair is causing low self esteem, embarrassment, or is incredibly unbareable. No need to wait. Come in and meet with us. Let us know what you feel you can afford and we can get you started.

With Valentine's Day in two weeks, we are gearing up for a busy season. Ordering more wax and making sure we have a variety of sparkly gems to choose from. We also started training a new addition to our team, Sarah. Sarah is an esthetician. We have been teaching her our unique techniques for brazilian laser and brazilian waxing. That way she will be ready to help us out with the over flow we are expecting near Valentine's Day.
Since February 14th falls on a Sunday this year, it gives you ladies and guys extra time on the weekend to prepare. We are open on Friday 8am-9pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 10am-2pm. Additional hours will be added if we fill up our availability.
Bring in a friend or your significant other for moral support. Plus, it just makes it more fun!
One of our most popular options for Valentines is a heart shape. If you have been growing your hair in, it is easy to leave the remaining hair in the shape of a heart, and wax the hair around it for the full brazilian style. If you are really feeling romantic, we can dye the hair color pink and apply some shimmering jewels around it. Ask us for details when you come in for your appointment. We will be happy to show you the various colors and options, along with help you decide which ones you like best.

Last year, we started using a new product for our brazilian waxing. It is called 'sugar'. So instead of waxing, we are actually 'sugaring' brazilians. There are so many benefits to using this new product that we can't imagine going back to using the hard wax. For years, we thought that the blue hard wax was the least painful, the least amount of irritation and the best at grabbing all the hairs. Come to find out, sugaring is way better! Here's why:
Sugaring is not hot. We actually use our hands to apply the sugar to the skin, so it cannot be too hot or our hands would burn. We do heat the sugar in a warmer, but it is only to keep the sugar soft enough to use. The warmer doesn't heat the wax much warmer than room temperature.
Sugaring grabs more hair. Supposedly the sugar lubricates the hair follicle while it is being applied, so that when the hair is pulled out, it comes out more easily. There is a technique that we can use the sugar kinda like tweezers and the sugar will grab out the small little stubbles. The way that the sugar is removed (we call it a 'flick') it has less chance of the hair breaking off (like the blue hard wax) and more chance of getting the hair out by the root.
Sugaring lasts longer. We did a comparison between the hard wax and sugar and saw a noticable difference after a couple weeks. The side that the sugar was used on had less hair growing back in. I believe this is a result from the sugar grabbing more hair and not breaking the hairs off.
Less ingrowns. Sugar is a natural exfoliant which removes the dead skin cells. The dead skin cells are usually the culprit for blocking hairs from growing back in normally, and then they get trapped under the skin.
Acomoclitic Studio doesn't charge any more for the sugaring product. It costs $55 for a female brazilian and $65 for a male brazilian.
